All our sloths here at KSTR go for regular 'walks', which involve climbing for exercise and foraging for pre-release training.
This includes our recent adult rescue, Don Dona, as well as our hand-raised orphans as they get ready for independence (Kiwi, Patty, Grubby, and Speedy/Jorge). Normally this happens after dark since 2-fingered sloths are nocturnal. "Bootcamp" is what we affectionately call our open-air enclosed area, which is about the size of a football field! Intern Mark Richardson is one of the lucky ones doing behavioral observations and helping them on their way...and taking great pictures of the process! Thanks also to our interns Catherine More, Ellis Van den Eynden and Emma Hodson!
